Brief
Provide visual and motion designs for the Relax App and three Celebration Moments on the Fitbit Charge 3 device. Designs should be an evolution from those of the Charge 2 device, and new Relax app designs should explore elements from the same experience on Charge 2, Blaze, and Ionic devices. 

Solution
The final solutions embraced an overall simplified/spacially flat, and minimalistic visual look that lent itself well to motion and adhered to general device display limitations.

The Relax App conveyed a subdued, calming feeling by using glowing rings of dots to guide users’ breathing. 

The three Celebration Moments were whimsical, memorable, and fun in the scenes they conveyed:
  • Cartoon bird carrying a banner
  • Fireworks
  • Disco ball

Process
The starting point for this project included a kickoff workshop with stakeholders to determine what visual/motion system they felt worked for the Charge 3 device. Collaboration sessions with the Fitbit team and weekly remote check-ins and in-person reviews were conducted to achieve the project goal. Our team worked with Fitbit engineers to deliver the final design under limitations of battery life and device display limitations.
